WebOct 8, 2013 · Two different bikes. FZR is the faired sports bike, Zeal is a naked bike with the same engine. How I would advise you to go depends on which bike it is. The zeal is detuned from the FZR engine. For the complexity of the engine, the performance is underwhelming, but an okay bike otherwise. WebMar 31, 2024 · Hi All. I recently purchased my first bike to learn on, a 1999 Yamaha Zeal (FZX250). The idle revs are sitting a little high at the moment, around 2000RPM. And the power is a little low in the 0-25% throttle range, especially noticeable on hill starts. I'm looking to adjust the Carburetor air/fuel mixture.

Bear in mind the Zeal is a 250 so its not very quick because it has hardly any torque (you wont convince people its a 600 as soon as you start riding). Also the GS is an inline twin as far a im aware and will be a lot quicker and easier on fuel.
