Be sure to torque evenly and if it still leaks either the pipes are the wrong size, the clamps are the wrong size or it's not torqued enough. As for the catalytic converter bolts, I fixed 'em with ~$1.50 in bolts & nuts from the hardware store but I had to replace all 3.

Web10 okt. 2010 · There's no need for a grade 8 bolt there, it's very low tension. Split lock washers only work as the bolt starts to loosen. A good lock washer there would be an internal star. A nylock won't work well, because the plastic would melt. There are special nuts designed specifically for this application.
