WebOk, it is thinner and more loosely woven (but of finer/thinner thread) than quilting cotton. I generally use it as lining on heavier pieces which don't need satin or silk. That being said, you can definitely make garments from it. But- be prepared anything single layer and fitted is going to need a lining, and it is not a terribly strong fabric.
